Govert Derks brings an international and open approach to the VERCOR team by capitalizing on his over ten years working experience in numerous countries around the globe. Being a native of the Netherlands, Govert worked both for multinationals and start-ups in countries like Germany, UK, Spain, France, Belgium, Ireland, USA and Argentina. Govert has a degree in Business Administration at the Enschede Business School in the Netherlands and a degree in International Economic Studies at the University of Regensburg in Germany and the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands.
Govert started his career with international finance assignments for companies like GE Capital, ABN Amro, and Daimler Chrysler. Govert has also been involved in the start-up of several companies.
"Buying and selling companies means dealing with people. One has to understand a business, the industry it operates in, but particularly the people that are involved - especially if one deals with different cultures. Bringing this all together in a successful way is an interesting challenge."
Govert likes to be active and enjoys outdoor sports like soccer and cycling as well as riding his motorbike. In addition, Govert enjoys spending time with his young son and wife.
